A vanilla scoop of Goodness!

Saturday night. 12.20 am. I had just finished creating a bat file to automate a few tasks in my laptop. I was feeling bored and didn't know what to do. Mom was sleeping and so was grandma. Dad was in Navjivan express enroute to Chennai.

Sleep, my inner conscious said.

No. I was feeling too bored to even sleep. Unfortunately, I'm not one of those who loves to sleep, although I do sleep at lot :-P

My grandma got up suddenly and smiled at me with that look in a her eyes which suggested that she was hungry! Grandma is such a darling. At 95, she's as cute and innocent as a 5 month old baby. I went to the kitchen and scouted for some food. And then it dawned on me that there was vanilla ice-cream tub in the freezer :)

Ice-cream is her favourite. I got one scoop for her and one for me. She gulped it and blessed me for the umpteenth time saying "Bhagwan tane sukhi rakhe" (May God keep you happy). After putting her to sleep, I thought to watch TV for few minutes. Flipping through a channel, my attention was drawn to a scene in which a man was flying in air balloon and was caught in a tornado. He was shouting - "God, give me one more change. I'll achieve greatness and won't disappoint you."

2 hours later I had finished watching "Oz the Great and Powerful" in star movies. After a long time saw a disney movie and loved it. The film is basically about a guy who is a con-artist and wants to achieve greatness of the likes of Edison. The beautiful land of Oz is breathtaking. After ages, heard about witches :). As a kid, I used to be so scared of them. I used to watch Vikram and Vaitaal back then. The little China Doll was such a lovable character that it stole my heart and so was Finley, the cute monkey. Such a clean and nice movie. It ended on such a positive note - "Aspire to be good than to be great. Greatness follows goodness".
